Nirvana was founded in 1998 with the objective of co-producing, promoting and distributing a variety of quality commercial feature films ranging from budgets between $2 million to $25 million.
Our involvement in films can be at inception with an idea or script or selling the distribution rights of a completed film to international territories.
At Nirvana, we look to make and promote high profile, moderately budgeted genre films that still have great artistic and theatrical ambition. Our plan is often to combine the very best up and coming new talents - both, behind and in front of the camera — with the very best Hollywood and Bollywood have to offer.
Nirvana Entertainment has been making films for over a decade now. It specialises in co-production with foreign film makers (in Hindi or a foreign language) as well as reaching out to a discerning audience when making films in India (in the Hindi language).
We continue to seek, promote and nurture new exciting talent and are producing a number of projects with established film makers, directors, writers and actors. With representatives and offices in USA, New Zealand, India & UK, we aim to work with both independent producers from across the world as well as partnering up with studios on their more 'indie' type
Our recent productions include Italo Spinelli’s Gangor, Krishna Mishra's “Wounded” starring the Bandit Queen Seema Parihar herself & “Forgotten Showers” an adaptation of a story by India’s acclaimed writer Munshi Premchand, starring, Rajpal Yadav, Nethra Raghuraman and Sadhu Mehar.

Nirvana has set itself apart from most film makers, by seeking and telling stories that explore the reality of the human condition with a perspective that leaves a lasting impact on the viewer. Parts might be uncomfortable to watch but leave the emotions and senses heightened. Non formulaic, they have tended to bring an “auteur aware” audience or “auteur audience” to the films world-wide.
The sensibility in these films does not stray from making intelligent cinema also entertaining cinema. This has been aptly and amply demonstrated in each outing on our catalogue.
